The night before the first day of school can bring a mix of excitement, anticipation, and plenty of big feelings. Even children who are looking forward to returning may feel nervous about a new teacher, a different classroom, or being away from home. Ready Confetti is a simple School Year’s Eve tradition designed to make the night before the first day of school feel a little more magical. It takes only a few minutes to prepare, but it can have a big impact, especially for little ones who need extra reassurance.
The printable tag was created in collaboration with Grace Collective Shop and includes a fun Ready Confetti poem that you can read together before the first day.

Supplies for Making Ready Confetti
You only need a few supplies to put the bags together:
- School icons table scatter. Use code SHAKIRA20 for a discount!
- Colorful paper confetti
- Small backpack treat bags or brown paper bags
- Ready Confetti printable gift tags
- Cardstock or printer paper
- Scissors
- Mini clothes pins
How to Make Ready Confetti Bags
Begin by combining your favorite colors and shapes of confetti. You can create your own using paper circles, and classroom-inspired shapes.
Add a small amount of confetti to each treat bag. You only need enough for a light sprinkle, so one package of confetti can be used to make several bags.
Print the Ready Confetti tags, cut them out, and attach one to each bag using a mini clothespin.
Write your child’s name on the tag or add a short handwritten message on the back. A simple note such as “You are ready for an amazing year” makes the surprise feel even more personal.

How to Use Ready Confetti
Give your child the bag on School Year’s Eve and read the poem aloud together. This is a good opportunity to ask what they are most excited about and whether there is anything making them feel nervous.
Before bed, sprinkle the confetti under their pillow or around the outside of the bed. You can also save it for the morning and scatter a small amount around the breakfast table before they wake up. Have a great school year!
