DIY Valentine Mailboxes

Hey, friends! I am so excited to share Raegan and Zarie’s DIY valentine mailboxes with you. Before I do, I want to mention that it is not lost on me that so many of your littles are doing virtual school right now. While Raegan and Zarie will be taking their mailboxes in to school to exchange valentines, I know this isn’t the case for a lot of your kiddos. My advice? Make a mailbox anyway. Use it to exchange sweet letters, treats, or small gifts within your household.

Perhaps, you could even coordinate a neighborhood contactless valentine exchange–or something similar with you child’s virtual classroom, or church group. If 2020 taught us anything, it was to get creative with your community. Do what serves your family right now. Have fun with it!

Okay, so what do you need?

A box and literally any fun stickers, paint, or embellishments you want.

The only thing I purchased for this project were the mailboxes (and you 100% could just repurpose a shoebox or Amazon box). Everything else we already had. The Girl Power stickers and fun sequins were their favorite parts! I will list everything I can for you below.

I helped with the hot glue gun, and we recycled the girls’ Once Upon A Farm pouch tops, to make mailbox knobs! The rest was all them! Raegan even helped Zarie tie her yarn bow on the mailbox signal flag! So so fun. My biggest suggestion with this craft is to 1) search the house for craft supplies you already have 2) let them go wild.

Mama enjoyed a hot cup of coffee, and these girls created their little hearts out–pun TOTALLY intended! Let them make it their own!

Materials:

  • $5 Pink Craft Mailbox – HERE
$3 Shoebox Style Mailbox – HERE
$3 Heart Shaped Mailbox – HERE
  • Girl Power Sticker Set – HERE (Use code LOVEOOLY5 for discount)
  • Letter Stickers – HERE
  • Heart Watercolor Sets – HERE
  • Heart Jewel Sequins – HERE
  • Yarn – I’ve collected from small shop packages and old craft projects. Find similar styles at places like Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

I must add that the quality of the craft mailboxes is REALLY good. For 5 bucks they’re super sturdy, the prettiest shade of pink, and the girls colored on them with paint, chalk, pen and crayons!

If you have any questions, or fun suggestions, please leave them for me in the comments! I am happy to help, and I hope your littles enjoy–and you can get that hot cup of coffee, too! Be sure to tag me on Instagram so I can share your creations!
