Hey there! Sharing Zarie’s favorite dinner recipe with you! Honestly, it’s a crowd pleaser in The Patterson Household, and I hope your family will enjoy it as much as mine does.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs of chicken breasts ( you could use thighs), diced in about 1 inch pieces
- Flour (enough to lightly coat your chicken)
- 4 teaspoons of sesame oil
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- Steamed rice
- Rice seasoning (HERE is a yummy brand)
- 1/2 cup of soy sauce
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds (I don’t always have these, but my rice seasoning has sesame seeds in it)
- 2 cloves of freshly minced garlic
- Thinly sliced green onion
- Optional: 1 cup of veggies (we love to do broccoli and/or sliced red pepper)
Directions:
- Place oil in a skillet over medium heat until it’s hot enough to run quickly.
- Dredge chicken in flour and place in hot pan.
- Cook thoroughly (about 5-6 minutes).
- Add in your veggies.
- Mix sugar, garlic, and soy sauce.
- Pour mixture over chicken and veggies, and cook for another 2-3 minutes, to allow sauce to thicken.
- Add in sesame seeds, and serve over steamed rice.
- Garnish with rice seasoning and green onions.
I also love to add a few shakes of red pepper flakes to this recipe, to add a little heat!
That’s it, folks! So yummy, and much cleaner than ordering take-out! Enjoy, and be sure to share your yummy family meals with me on Instagram.
xoxo
