Tips for Creating a Halloween Treat Board

Okay, so y’all know I love a good charcuterie or treat board. If you follow my #ShakiraGotBoard hashtag on Instagram, then you know it is an extra something I love to do for my little family. I created a fun treat board to share with you all, and it was a BIG hit with the kids. I think it would be so much fun to create for your next Halloween gathering, or for a fun movie night at home.

The main rule for creating these types of things, is that THERE ARE NO RULES! Have fun with it. Pull from the things you already have in your pantry. Anything can be made silly and spooky with candy googley eyes, right? I keep them on hand even for lunchbox packing.

For this board, I took a pretty simple approach. I used candy, cotton candy, cookies and cotton candy. The skeleton board is such a fun shape, and I love the vintage feel of it. I loaded it up with goodies, and now mama only has one dish to wash after the movie. The mini cauldron is from a Dollar Tree multi-pack, but I also found them HERE. My FAV items is the witch fingers. They are so hilariously spooky, and the almost fingernail takes me out every single time.

Tips:

  1. Use Sprinkles to Popcorn. This simple addition turns up the magic on a classic treat.
  2. Add Punny Food Flags. The fun “witch fingers” printable food flag is an Occasions by Shakira x The Magic Playbook collab. You can download the entire set of Halloween Occasions Bin™ printables HERE. I’ll quick link the treats below.
  3. Have Fun. Release the pressure to make your snack boards “perfect” and have fun creating this treat for your family. Add in the things you love most, and enjoy making the memory as a family.

Quick Links:

I know that the above decorated cookies are on the pricier side of things, so I am linking some more affordable options below that are just as cute! I would also highly recommend finding a local baker who creates these beautiful treats. I love to support small businesses.

I hope that this gives you a little Inspo for making memories this Spooky Szn. Remember, as long as you kiddos have you, loving them, and being intentional, they’re going to have an amazing time. All the rest is just extra. If you have any questions, shoot me a message, and don’t forget to pin this for later!
