We started the day bright and early with Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Character Breakfast at Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel. This character breakfast has quickly become a favorite of ours, and this was the first time that we went and were able to hug and interact with the characters up close. The kiddos even got some signatures in their autograph books. Being there, and getting to love on the characters up close was magical–I am so happy have those options back. I also highly recommend the Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure at Napa Rose. Read more about that HERE.
Once we got into Disney California Adventure, and snagged some Starbucks, it was time to head over to the Disney Junior Fun Fest Parade! Disney parades are always top notch, and this one was no different. The music and dancers were SO fun. We even got to see our favorite characters on a beautifully decorate cavalcade. I couldn’t believe that I was standing there with my 6-year-old who has loved Doc McStuffins since she was tiny! They grew up together, and I love that we were able to see her again, and celebrate 10 Years of Doc McStuffins! We had so much fun singing and dancing, and then bringing out a cake and singing “Happy Birthday” to Doc. I think this was my favorite part of the day. It all felt so incredibly magical.
Speaking of birthdays, we also got to be a part of the Alice’s Wonderland Bakery Unbirthday Party. Xander decided to have a churro and a stroller nap, while Raegan and Zarie geared up to become official Disney bakers. The girls got bakers hats and headed right up to the stage for a special appearance by Minnie Mouse, and to decorate real cupcakes. They used lots and LOTS of icing y’all. I have a feeling that this will be a core memory. They were so proud of their Unbirthday treats!
After a delicious private lunch at Lamplight Lounge (I highly recommend the potato cakes and Kung Pao Bao), we got all of the deets on the brand new Disney Junior Show lineup!
There were some really cool stars in attendance, including Donald Faison, Yvette Nicole Brown, Harvey Guillén, Martellus Bennett, Ruth Righi and Libby Rue. John Stamos even videoed in a he voices characters in both Mickey Mouse Funhouse and new series Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends. Here is what all we can look forward to from Disney Junior:
- Hey A.J. – based on the life and family of Super Bowl Champion and children’s book author Martellus Bennett
- Eureka! – tells the story of a young girl inventor who turns the ordinary into extraordinary
- Firebuds – features children of first responders and their talking vehicle sidekicks
- Kindergarten: The Musical – this show is all about navigating all of the “firsts” that come with starting kindergarten
- Mickey Mouse Funhouse Pirate Adventure – Mickey and his friends take on the greatest treasure hunt EVER!

We attended the Disney Junior Live! Dance and Play, took advantage of fun photo ops, watched “Bluey” and got our photo taken at the Directv booth. What an incredible experience! Congrats Disney Junior on an incredible celebration, and thanks to everyone who followed along with us!
