My sweet daughter’s fifth birthday was undoubtedly an occasion for the books. Park, friends, and magic. They are the perfect trio for a good party. The littlest touches can make the sweetest memories, the mushroom napkins, fairy scavenger hunt, and twig pencils are some of my favorites! When I asked her how she wanted to celebrate her birthday, she told me that she wanted to be a fairy and that she wanted to go to the park. We’ve never hosted any of her birthdays (First Fiesta, Under the Sea, Sundae Funday) outside of our home–but logistically, this ended up being so simple and fun.
We went with homemade cupcakes that I made from a box mix. We instantly elevated them with the cutest fairy garden cupcake liners, picks, and edible fairy dust (glitter). I also found a few beautiful tree trunk cupcake stands that matched the venue and theme. Coordinating cups, plates, and napkins were stored on the party table in our Occasions Bin™–find out more about this party tradition here. Another easy decor item was our butterfly felt garland from Pearl and Jane (use code SHAKIRA10 to save.
Besides the obvious fun at the playground, we bought a few fun activities for the kids. Everyone got temporary tattoos, which were a huge hit. The boys loved the mushrooms, and the girls loved choosing fairies to add to their cheeks and hands. We also printed off a woodland fairy scavenger hunt for the kids to do. This scavenger hunt printable was an instant download that I uploaded to OfficeMax.com and printed on cardstock. I paired those with the cutest little hand-cut twig pencils. Before the party started, I hid a couple of the wands and some glitter-painted rocks around the park. And the kids had so much fun exploring the park to find the items.
Each child also got to take home a giant bubble “wands” as a party favor–though many of them opened these up during the party. I really wanted to have a party favor that wasn’t junk but that also catered toward both boy and girl party guests. These seemed to be a big hit. I used some yarn I already had to tie on custom tags that read “Thank You FAIRY much for coming! Love, Zarie” These were another instant download I had printed on cardstock and cut out at home.
I included a full list of our favorite things from the party, with links to shop! Simply click on the name of the party supply.

Hi! I’m so glad I stumbled upon your adorable daughter’s birthday party. I’m currently planning for my 3 daughters 🙂 Can I ask if you served food besides cupcakes and if so, what did you serve? Also did you use a particular invite for guests? Thanks so much!
Hi! We did pizza and finger foods like veggies and chips! We did an e-vite but the same small shop that makes the bubble wand tags also has a cute coordinating customizable invite! I hope that helps!

Hi there! Love this so much. What did you use for the magical scavenger hunt items?
I used the mini glitter wands linked above and I added biodegradable glitter to a few rocks and twigs at the park!
