National Pancake Day

Hey, friends! I am so excited to share our first outdoor meal of the year! We recently moved (check out our Virtual Homecoming Party) to Monterey, California as an active duty military family, and I cannot say enough how much we’ve been enjoying our new home, and the beautiful mind weather it’s given us. We enjoy taking easy meals outside to enjoy, and recently decided on a pancake breakfast in honor of National Pancake Day. I know there are a ton of crazy holidays out there, but this is one our family can absolutely stand behind. We are HUGE pancake lovers in this house. With my husband needing to be gone often, taking our fun outside is a nice change of pace for us. I also love that with the help of Chinet® brand clean up was a breeze.

This post and our trip has been sponsored by the Chinet® brand. I make it a point to only collaborate with brands that I truly enjoy and love. All opinions are entirely my own.

I decided to make a huge pancake board to celebrate! If you follow me on Instagram, then you make be familiar with my #ShakiraGotBoard hashtag, and that I love to serve up the fun. I love that creating a board minimizes multiple dishes that’ll need to get washed later. Don’t own a wooden serving board? Use Chinet Classic® platters. They’re a great size and will stand up to a hearty breakfast. Dishes aren’t my favorite chore, especially when I’m solo parenting, so it’s nice to have quality options that we can toss.

If you’re considering your own pancake board, I would suggest serving them up with plenty of options for toppings i.e. syrup, whipped cream, fresh fruit, chocolate chips, etc. My kids love to create pancake faces using fruit and toppings, so it was a good thing we had plenty of Chinet Classic® dinner napkins. In addition to toppings, I like to always add in a few proteins and savory options like eggs, breakfast potatoes and/or bacon. Pancakes boards are so fun, because there really is a little something for everyone.

Raegan set the table using Chinet Classic® compartment plates. These are a game changer if you’re like me and don’t like your food to touch, want to separate your syrup for dipping, or if you’re like my kiddos and like to divy up your pancake face making supplies haha. She also set out Chinet Crystal® 14 oz cups, and Chinet Crystal® cutlery. I can’t say enough how nice it was to soak in the sun with my kiddos, and have a nice slow breakfast in our pajamas.

National Pancake Day this year is Tuesday March 1st, and while everyone may not be enjoying this California sunshine, I hope you’re still able to create a little fun inside. Busy weekday morning making it tough to cook a big breakfast? Consider making an extra batch of pancakes over the weekend, and throwing them in the freezer. They only take a minute or two to warm in the microwave, and you can pair them with Chinet® brand products for a fast and fun morning. You could even turn up the magic by having a breakfast for dinner celebration.

Have fun with it! Stack your pancakes to the sky, create cantaloupe smiley faces, and feel free to blow all of the milk bubbles like Xander did haha. His little oblivious milk mustache is my favorite ever. Cheers to National Pancake Day, friends!

xoxo, Shakira
