Hey, friends! Super excited to share our Fall Family Fun Weekend pumpkin painting tradition with you. Last year was such a good time, I know Raegan and Zarie were very much looking forward to it. The kiddos had such a fun time getting creative, and spending time together!
I put together a fun balloon garland, inspired by the colors of the Frankenstein Dino in #XandersNurseryNook. I even did a collaboration with Pearl and Jane to create the coordinating felt garland. Such a fun color way, and one of my favorite balloon garlands to date.
There is a time-lapse of the balloon garland install in my “FFF Weekend Highlight” on Instagram. You can find my electric balloon blower and other balloon garland supplies HERE, in my Amazon shop. The latex balloons themselves are from Party City–and I just blow them up in multiple sizes. The ghost mylar was a $3 Target find, and you can get a 3-pack of those gorgeous bat mylars from Ellie and Piper Co. You can snag the star balloons here. I simply made loops with clear packing tape to attach the mylar balloons to the walls/blinds. Sidenote: Here we are, two weeks later, and the garland is still going strong. I love that you can create them, and leave them up for the season.
We (my amazing sisters and I) lined the table with craft paper for easy clean-up, and marked each child’s place setting with an adorable hand lettered name tag from Chalk Designs by Me. I always love to use the tags, as they’re something the kids can take back home with them to reuse. You can find the $5 paper mache pumpkins we used HERE. I used mini jack-o-lantern buckets as water cups for the kiddos to wash their paintbrushes in.
The table was decorated with some fun Halloween themed confetti–and trays in the middle housed all of the painting supplies. All of the painting/decorating supplies were gifted from our friends over at Ooly. I can’t say enough how much I love their selection of art and school supplies. They go above and beyond when it comes to quality, selection, and creativity. There is a full list of everything we used below. Just click the affiliate link beside the name.

Pro Tip: Have a package of inexpensive baby wipes on hand to wipe particularly messy hands. This helps my kids not leave a paint trail on the way to the bathroom sink haha.
Guys, I love this tradition. SO SO much. I love seeing the kids pull from their imaginations and create a pumpkin they love. I love that Raegan and Zarie’s pumpkins are a part of our Fall decor–proudly on display. I love the simplicity of the pumpkin painting, and being able to turn up the magic a bit with fun decor and supplies.
Thank you for reading about our family fun, and I hope you were able to draw a little Inspo for your own creations. If you have any questions about this post, please leave it in the comments below!
Happy memory making, friends!
xoxo
