Tiny Ghoul Gang Movie Night

Hello, October! Spooky season is officially here, and now marks the beginning of themed movie night heaven! If you’ve been with me for a while, you know that we do movie nights every Friday at my house. My latest Occasion Kit launch was born from wanting to share that tradition with you all. I included a Halloween Bucket List in the tradition guide, with a fun movie list for you all to check off this season. The Tiny Ghoul Gang and I also had a blast shooting some spooky movie night inspo for you all with Patty K Photography. I had SO much fun styling this shoot. You can’t go wrong with pink, light-up tutus, and popcorn!

How fun is this movie night invite by Invitation Consultants? Their designer, Brittany Cobb totally blew the theme out of the water. I can’t get over her custom lettering, the ghouls, stars, and shimmer card stock. We paired the invitation with a perfectly coordinating iridescent lined envelope.

I truly just wanted this shoot to reflect my girly girls and their love for shimmer and snacks. This Insta Mom loves a good play on words, and decided to transform my #TinyGirlGang into the #TinyGhoulGang for Spooky Season. The rose gold letter balloons are from Ellie and Piper Party Boutique. You can find glittery stars throughout the design; I added a few mini star balloons to tie in with the starred glitter pumpkin luminaries from Pottery Barn Kids. You can find the star balloons here. I mixed 3d paper bats into this ghouly backdrop. They were the perfect finishing touch. I also have some used for decor in my own home. You can shop a similar style of 3D bats here for seven bucks!

If you’re not already familiar with Patty K Photography, she creates the most gorgeous photo sets and props by hand. She already had that handmade witch’s cauldron for one of her shoots, and I absolutely had to have it when she showed it to me. How fun!! We added in a 3D paper bat and a few more star balloons to the bubbling cauldron.

The girls’ place settings were each marked with a custom paper bat placemat from Ellie and Piper Co. Britt Co Designs hand lettered them along with the adorable “Eeeek,” “Booo,” and “Spooky” placemats that we repurposed as hanging decor. Atop the placemats were foil star plate chargers, and the CUTEST pink ghoul Daydream Society plates. I tucked coordinating napkins under the top side of our bats. I love the way the black looks against that bubbly pink. Each girl also got one of those darling little black cat balloon wands that you can find here.

The rose milk bottles and cake stand are from my home inventory, and tied in perfectly with the letter balloons. On the cake stand I placed fun opaque skeleton confetti crackers, and a few pairs of the kitty glasses from my Spooky Occasion Kit. The confetti crackers also contain a little hat and halloween tattoo! I scattered some of the holographic skeleton and tissue confetti from the Spooky Kit on the table as well. It gives it the perfect touch a whimsy. Those fun orange Boo silly straws are also in the Spooky Kit.

Our delightful hand lettered bats make another appearance as our food markers for the snack table. We used creepy cloth from Pottery Barn Kids as a tablecloth. I worked with one of my favorite small veteran owned businesses, HotSugarPop, to create the perfect kettle corn for my Spooky Occasion Kits. The color mix is pulled from all of my favorite Halloween hues and monsters–Purple People Eaters, Frankenstein, and The Great Pumpkin, of course. I love the look of the black striped mini popcorn boxes against the colorful kettle corn. Our family can’t get enough of it. Our “Monsters Brew” was actually coconut punch with a few drops of red food coloring. I really wanted it to have that spooky cloudy consistency.

I got those gorg black scroll trays on clearance a few years back from Walmart. Basically anything I put on them always looks so pretty. We served up pretzel “Mummy Bites” and “Casper Cookies.” The recipes for both of these treats are in my Spooky Occasion Kit tradition guide. I made the mummy bites for my daughter’s ballet class party, last year, and they was a huge hit.

The girls’ gorgeous light-up ghoul dresses are compliments of Pottery Barn Kids. You can shop their entire look, and the pumpkin luminaries, here. My “I just want to watch scary movies and cuddle” sweatshirt is from Friday Apparel, find it here.

Thank you to all of the awesome vendors who helped make my vision for this design come together. I have tagged them throughout the blogpost, and you can find their respective websites below.

I hope I’ve given you lots of fun ideas for your own spooky movie night traditions. Be sure to tag me on Instagram and Facebook so that I can see and share your creativity. Thanks for reading, and Happy Haunting, ghouls and boos!
