Hey, friends! IT’S SHARK WEEK!!! What am I talking about? Shark Week is an annual, week-long TV programming block at the Discovery Channel, which features shark-based programming. You can find out more HERE.
On Fridays, it is a family tradition to just curl up on the couch and watch a movie together. I oftentimes try to come up with some fun snacks that tie into the movie–this Friday’s movie was The Little Mermaid. Yes, my children had to listen to me belt out every single song. Such a classic.
Since this week is dedicated to one of the sea’s most notorious creatures, I thought I would share my fun Under the Sea snack tray with you all. The girls got to add their favorite sweet and salty mix-ins together for the perfect snack mix.
Those darling “Splish Splash” napkins came in my Suburban Soiree Sassy Napkin Society subscription box.The fun paper shark bags are Lunchskins brand, and I filled those with some air popped popcorn. The girls then got to choose their own add ins.
I got all of my food items from the grocery store, and at the candy stand inside of my local mall. If you don’t have time for a mall/candy store run, click on the highlighted links below to shop them on Amazon. You can get your shark-cuterie (yas, puns!) ingredients delivered to your porch with Prime!
We are big Goldfish fans over here, but I have to say, THESE really cute whale crackers would make an excellent mix-in option. The chocolate sea shells were so so good. Full transparency: I’m not a big candy person, but I enjoyed like two handfuls of them to myself—sorry not sorry.
How sweet are my little whale bowls? I got a set of 4 for $5 in the clearance section of HomeGoods. You’ll see them again soon at Zarie’s birthday party! I did find some lookalikes on Amazon and you can snag them HERE. Y’all know I love being able to reuse things like this. How fun would these be for the beach, a seafood dinner, or to use for a One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish themed snack during Dr. Seuss week. I got the colorful mini mason jars from World Market.
Those sweet metallic mermaid picks are from a Talking Tables cake topper set that I am using for Zarie’s birthday party. I threw them into their glasses with a couple of fun straws. Add in a drop or two of blue food coloring to go full on ocean water! You can snag glass bottles similar to ours HERE.
Happy snacking, friends! I hope that I’ve inspired you a bit for your Shark Week celebrations! Make sure to tag me in your sea inspired snack trays! I love to see you create memories, and would love to SHARE.
XOXO,
Shakira
