Brunch Goals

Mother’s Day is a special one for me, y’all. This will be my fourth Mother’s Day (yes, I celebrated the year I was pregnant, too) and it gives me all the feels. Motherhood fuels me. I don’t say that in one of those annoying “OMG WHAT WAS LIFE BEFORE I BECAME A MOTHER?” ways–I mean that I’ve built a community around mothers, and you oftentimes leave me in sheer awe. So much strength. So much beautiful vulnerability and power. I love, laugh with, work with, and pray with other mothers. I smile at your stories, and cheer you on from the other side of the country. Your jokes, testimony, and talent fuel me. I myself have an exquisite mother. Mother’s Day is badass because mamas are badass.

We deserve all. the. things.

I wanted to share some Mother’s Day brunch prettiness with you. The last Mother’s Day that I got to spend in the same city as my own mama was the day I graduated with my Masters–eight years ago. I always long to love on her. To fix her a yummy plate, and soak her in. That’s okay though, I save up all the hugs for when I do see her. She usually ends up being the one cooking for me, sending me away on much needed date nights, and spoiling my babies. That woman is a roadmap for what a mother should be–always inking out the best ways to love. Why am I telling you this? If your mama is nearby, hug her tight! Make her some brunch, hold tight to your beautiful roadmap.

I had SO much fun styling this brunch. I wanted to make it feminine and simple. The inspiration came from this GORGEOUS Rifle Paper Co. garden tableware set. The spring colors, soft gold detailing, and florals are perfect for a girly brunch. Kaleh Sampson Designs curated beautiful coordinating invitations and gold wax sealed envelopes.

Seriously, even if you’re going out for Mother’s Day, save this inspo for an upcoming shower, MOPS event or birthday dinner. I love using designer paperware because you can feed a full table of people for less cash, and with easy cleanup.

The plates come in two sizes, ideal if you’re serving up a salad, or cake slices. The coordinating plates, dinner napkins, and straws can be purchased HERE. She even has beautiful cups to finish out the set.

Each placesetting featured a beautiful felt placemat that you can buy HERE on crazy sale right now. In lieu of traditional name cards, I thought it would be fun to have custom tags created, and treat each mama with a mini Mother’s Day bouquet. The tags were designed as a set with the invitations, and Mom-osa bar signage.

You’re never going to catch me saying that florals aren’t a necessity, but you don’t always have to go with pricey arrangements to make a big impact. I made these mini bouquets from grocery store flowers and a roll of soft pink ribbon. Inexpensive, and something guests can actually take home. I styled an additional mini arrangement on the bar inside of a mini gold lantern.

The difference is always in the details. I wanted there to be delicate floral touches everywhere—just like in the tableware design. How about the ice cubes? Why not. It is the prettiest touch, and perfectly complimented the garden flower straws, and my vintage pink glasses.

How do you make flower ice cubes?
1. Fill up an ice tray half way.
2. Choose your fav edible flowers.
3. Add a few flowers to the frozen cube halves
4. Fill the remaining space with water and freeze. Bam.

I even used flower cubes to fill my Mom-osa Bar ice bucket. Have you ever seen a prettier bucket of ice? The Cavicchioli 1928 Prosecco and Rosé were a delightful World Market find. You can’t have a Mom-osa bar without floral wrapped bubbly!!! How gorgeous is this mimosa bar? Remember what I said earlier? Mamas deserve all. the. things. (read: booze)

I can’t get over those beautiful Rifle Paper Co. garden party fans! I styled them with a fun gold triangle garland. Each stemless champagne flute was garnished with a mini berry skewer. In addition to fresh fruit, bubbly, assorted fresh juice, and coffee stir-ins, I also setup a fresh berry and mint infused water station. This rose gold water spigot sat atop a stack of careful chosen book titles. I thought a botany themed novel, and Ernest Hemmingway’s A Moveable Feast to be fitting the occasion.

If you’re in need of brunch menu ideas, southern buttermilk biscuits are always a good idea. I also personally feel like Belgian waffles are the perfect compliment to a grapefruit mimosa–thank me later. *wink*

Don’t forget to include a little sweetness for mama. I still can’t get over the gorgeousness of these custom French macarons. She always creates the most gorgeous colorways for these delicate treats. The floral designs are sheer perfection.

I hope I’ve inspired you to pull together a group of your favorite mamas over a plate of waffles and prosecco toasts. They deserve it. Check out my vendor list below for some help with all of the beautiful touches.
